Jac and Spencer’s Manhattan City Hall wedding was all about keeping it real. The day was full of small moments that told a big story. They wanted a documentary-style approach, combining 35mm film and digital photos, exploring the Marriage Bureau, City Hall Park, and the surrounding streets.
After the ceremony, they needed an extended marriage license, so we ended up waiting around 40 minutes. Instead of standing still, we turned that time into an opportunity: unscripted photos, full of little glances, movements, and emotion.
There were no extra stops—just City Hall and the subway. But that’s all we needed. And the photos captured the pace and intimacy of the day, and every frame was a memory, pressed into grain and tone.
